District 5240 Awards and Recognition Program
2011 - 2012

Governor's Citation Criteria
Six Requirements must be fulfilled by May 1, 2012

Achieve 4 of 5 Service Recognition Citations (Club Service, Community Service, International Service, Vocational Service and New Generations) AND 4 out of 10 of the following:
- Mandatory: Complete RI Presidential Citation Goals and submit certification form to Awards Chair by March 31, 2012. Date Completed, Signed, and Submitted by Club President:
- Mandatory: Participate in Public Relations drive during the year through electronic, broadcast or print media. Explain if completed:
- Mandatory: Club and/or member participation of $135 per member average in The Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund. Explain if completed:
- District Conference Attendance – 30% of members, including family members, guests, Rotaractors and/or Interactors. Explain if completed:
- Membership increase – 5% net increase. Explain if completed:
- Implement or improve a new member program designed for integration and retention.
- Achieve a member retention level of at least 80%.
- New Basic PRLS and / or new Master PRLS Graduates – 5% of Club (includes family members). Explain if completed:
- Rotary Foundation “Every Rotarian Every Year” – Increase per capita dollar giving to EREY by 20%. Explain if completed:
- Rotary Foundation Benefactors – minimum of 2 new Benefactors or 25% of existing club members. Explain if completed:
- Total of New Rotary Foundation Major Donor, Bequest Society, Paul Harris Society members and Spouses’ Paul Harris Society members – 10% of club or a minimum of 50% club member participation. Explain if completed:
- Participate in the District Public Relations Program by wearing high visibility items (such as shirts, jackets vests and hats), utilizing extensive media coverage (not just print media) and the utilization/placement of RI generated PR in your local community. Explain if completed:
- Club 3-Year Strategic Plan: Prepare and implement a strategic plan. Include Current President, President Elect and President Elect Nominee in the strategic planning process. Strategic plan must include implementation of a leadership succession planning program and Rotary awareness. Explain if completed:

Governor’s Super Club: Earn Governor’s Citation AND…
- Mandatory: Complete RI Presidential Citation Goals; submit certification to District Governor by March 31, 2012. Date Completed, Signed, and Submitted by Club President:
- Combine Membership Recruitment and Public Relations resulting in 10% net increase counts as 1 requirement; 20% net increase counts as 2 requirements. Explain if completed:
- Implement a Membership Development Program resulting in 90% Retention. Explain if completed:
- Participate in 2 community-based hands-on service programs bringing Rotarians and Rotaractors together (such as Food Bank Support, Free Health Camp, etc)
- District Conference Attendance – 50% attendance by members, partners, Rotaractors and Interactors. Explain if completed:
- Club pays for Rotaractor and Interactor registration to the District Conference. Explain if completed:
- New Basic PRLS and /or new Master PRLS Graduates – 10% of Club or 70% of existing club has completed Basic or Master PRLS (includes family members and Rotaractors, and Interactors sponsored by club). Explain if completed:
- Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund – $200.00 per member (average may include club contribution). Explain if completed:
- Rotary Foundation Benefactors – minimum of 4 new Benefactors or 50% of existing club. Explain if completed:
- Total of new Rotary Foundation Major Donor, Bequest Society, Paul Harris Society members and Spouses’ Paul Harris Society members – 15% of club counts as 1 requirement; 20% of club counts as 2 requirements or 70% of existing club counts as 1 requirement. Explain if completed:
- Club Extension – Form/Charter a new Rotary or Rotaract Club with a minimum of 25 members, counts as 2 requirements. Explain if completed:
- Mentor another Club in District 5240. (special form attached)
- Per capita giving to Polio Plus of $50 (prefer at least 50% of the contribution coming from the community).
