Our  Rotation Day on October 6th at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara was spectacular!  Thanks to Carolyn, Elizabeth and the entire crew for such fantastic hospitality.  (Pictures available at the Montecito Rotary web site).   Several members had never had the opportunity to see the facilities and fully appreciate the scale of the operations at the Club and it was very illuminating.

Our speaker this week back at the Montecito Country Club will be Nola Stucky, the Founder and CEO of NS Ceramic, Inc.  Based on Deborah Schwartz’s description of the breadth of Nola’s work it should be very interesting.

Very soon the GSE Team from Bangladesh will be here and details will be forthcoming soon.

The District Conference in Ventura is about a month away (10/23-10/25).  You can find out more details at http://www.rotarydistrict5240.org/.

Tomorrow is the Old Time Music Festival sponsored by Santa Barbara Sunrise Rotary.  They have lined up some excellent talent.  It’s at Stowe House in Goleta…..

Gunnar Thomer has been working on our Club Directory.  He will be in touch with you to be sure your contact information is current and will be attempting to get photos of everyone who still needs to submit a photo for the directory.  He will have his camera at the meeting on the 20th if you need a photo

Taken.  Please check the info that Gunnar sends you and get back to him promptly if corrections are needed.

Applications for grant requests from the Montecito Rotary Foundation are due for submission by this Friday, October 16th at 3:00 PM to Les Esposito.

Assignments this week are as follows:  Invocation/Flag Salute Sheryl Barnard   and 50/50 Raffle Karen Hickman.
